Anti Vaccination Lobbyists-It is more about the Mother’s Personality Disorder than the Child’s welfare?

As this blog is about toxins we did previously have entries in support of the Anti-Vaccination Lobby, but following recent developments THESE HAVE NOW BEEN REMOVED.

A leading campaigner in the Anti-Vaccine Campaign was Andrew Jeremy Wakefield who published substantial research to suggest that the MMR Vaccine was linked to Autism and by clicking on the link above it can be seen that research has been completely discredited.

And now the University of Sydney has published comprehensive research that dispels the link between Autism and Vaccine.

The recent case where an Australian Mother on the Gold Coast was jailed for six years for poisoning her daughter with Chemotherapy drugs asks more questions that it answers.

During the court case the defending Barrister said that the mother was suffering from a rare condition known as known as factitious disorder by proxy, where a person deliberately produces, feigns, or exaggerates symptoms of someone in their care.

The court heard she was so desperate for attention that before poisoning her daughter, she faked symptoms to have her own appendix removed.

The 23-year-old mother of two bought the chemotherapy drugs over the internet and fed them to her daughter over nine months.

She also wrote about the girl’s “fight for life” on Facebook, attracting more than 8000 supporters and even $500 in donations.

The drugs last year caused her daughter, now aged five, to suffer life-threatening illness, including bone marrow failure.

Prosecutor Glen Cash argued the woman was suffering a personality disorder, not a mental disorder, as she was not delusional, psychotic or out of touch with reality.

However, a treating psychiatrist did not diagnose the woman with a mental illness.

It raises the question what is and what is not a mental illness, as the mother quite clearly know the drugs could kill her 4-year-old daughter.

What mentally sane person would embark on such a campaign…………..if she is not mentally ill then what is the threshold for a diagnosis of mental illness?

The major question about this blog entry is are most if not all of the mothers who are active in the Anti-Vaccine Lobby actually suffering from a Personality Disorder.

Is the Anti-Vaccine stance really about the attention seeking mothers and not the welfare of their children?
Personality Disorders are broken down in to Clusters and Cluster B is called the dramatic, emotional, and erratic cluster. Our comprehensive E-BOOK details the tell-tale signs to look out for.

Cluster B includes Histrionic and Borderline Personality Disorder.

Persons with Histrionic Personality Disorder* are characterized by a pattern of excessive emotionality and attention seeking. Their lives are full of drama (so-called “drama queens”). Lets face it these Anti- Vaccine campaigners are not exactly shrinking violets, they will usually vocalise their views at any opportunity, at dinner parties, the school gates or any other place where they have the ears of other parents.

My child is not vaccinated, they declare in a loud voice…… its dangerous!

Do they have scientific evidence it’s dangerous or do they just want to be the centre of attention?

Borderline Personality Disorder* is one of the most widely studied personality disorders. People with Borderline Personality Disorder tend to experience intense and unstable emotions and moods that can shift fairly quickly. They generally have a hard time calming down once they have become upset. As a result, they frequently have angry outbursts and engage in impulsive behaviors such as substance abuse, risky sexual liaisons, self-injury, over spending, or binge eating. Clearly, the Borderline Personality Disorder with its combination of distorted thought patterns, intense and under-regulated emotions, and poor impulse control is practically designed to wreak havoc on any interpersonal relationship.

Children are not immune from the dangers of a relationship with a “Borderline” mother and scientific research demonstrates that these children face a very challenging future.

Many anti-vaccination lobbyists are so convinced of their views and “get in your face” and if you are faced with this scenario in future an appropriate response without getting embroiled in debate is

Do you suffer from a Personality Disorder?
